Volunteers are needed for a variety of activities to assist people with visual impairments. (1) Readers: Read mail, help pay bills and handle correspondence, including greetings cards; read books, including text books, magazines or catalogs; (2) Shoppers: Accompany visually impaired adults for grocery, clothes, or gift shopping; (3) Visitors: Provide escort for recreational or cultural activities, or conversation and companionship. Volunteers must attend a one-time only orientation session. It is hoped that volunteers can make a regular commitment of 1-2 hours every 1-2 weeks.
