Volunteer Coordinator For Worldwide Office

The Volunteer Coordinator helps establish and maintain an active, effective network of volunteers for Conservancy activities in our Worldwide Office in Arlington, VA (Ballston). This includes contacting potential and current volunteers, working with Conservancy staff in various departments at the Worldwide Office (i.e. Climate Change, HR, Marketing, Government Relations, Legal, Conservation, etc.), drafting emails and letters to volunteers and maintaining a volunteer database. It is desired that the Volunteer Coordinator devote approximately 5-7 or more hours per week to the following duties: 

• Work closely with staff to identify jobs and services appropriate for volunteers. Meet with staff and volunteers in Arlington as appropriate 
• Actively recruit people from a variety of sources to serve as volunteers for projects in the Worldwide Office (mostly in an office setting not outdoors) 
• Match volunteers with appropriate position as needed 
• Assist in the planning, coordination, recognition, follow-up and implementation of volunteer programs at the office 
• Report Worldwide Office volunteer hours on a monthly basis 
• Provide a yearly analysis and report on the volunteer program at the Worldwide Office 

This volunteer experience promises to be rewarding for someone who enjoys working in an office setting, who can work with a variety of people and who can communicate well. COMMITMENT: One year, with a 2-month introductory period: 5-7 hours or more a week
