Arlington Meals on Wheels is trying to put together a delivery tomorrow, Friday the 12th, to our approx. 150 clients. We have 16 routes that cover the entire county. Each route requires a driver and a runner, for a total of 32 volunteers. Meal On Wheels (MOW) can produce about 24 volunteers from the roster that would normally run the routes, but some of our volunteers are either snowed in or are not in physical condition to do the routes under current conditions. Ideally, we would need about ten drivers with 4wds to run our more difficult routes. Each would be provided with an experienced runner.
If we do the delivery tomorrow, volunteers would gather at our usual distribution point, 1st Presbyterian Church at the corner of N Vermont St. and Carlyn Spring Road (two blocks W of the intersection of Carlyn Spring and Glebe Road) at 10:45 tomorrow morning. Routes normally will be complete at the latest by 1:30 pm.
