For 29 years, Doorways for Women and Families (formerly The Arlington Community Temporary Shelter) has brought hope to women and families experiencing homelessness or domestic violence by providing a life-saving continuum of care, hope and safety. Doorways seeks volunteers to play a key role in our client advocacy. This position requires a thoughtful, compassionate individual with abilities to communicate effectively (written and verbal) as well as take initiative, multi-task, manage time wisely, meet deadlines, conduct research, think outside of the box, and be a team player.

Ten hours of classroom training and a background check are required for volunteers working directly clients in our shelters and programs.
