Volunteers Needed To Test Emergency Outdoor Warning System

Arlington County’s Office of Emergency  Management (OEM) is seeking volunteers to stand near Emergency Outdoor Warning System speakers to determine the clarity of the message on individual “horns”.  This is a simple test of the individual horn-sites and assists in completing the installation.

Ø      There are 10 sites in Arlington and Alexandria

Ø      Actual “testing” will take only a few minutes per site

Ø      We will position individuals at distances around the area of the “horn” and given pencil and paper to record the words that are understood

Ø      Messages will be in English, simple words, no skills or lifting involved

We will meet at the 2100 Clarendon Courthouse, outside near the flagpole at 3:00 PM, Friday April 13.
