Visitor Service Specialists Needed at Air & Space Museum

RSS XML FeedBackground Active Aug 18, 2004 to Sep 18, 2004

Visitor Services serves as the focal point and personal face for all visitor activities at the National Air and Space Museum. Our singular mission is to enhance the visitor's experience through customer focused services and programs. Our key to success has been the specialized customer service training provided to staff and volunteers necessary to effectively interact with the museum public and community. We strive to ensure that each visitor's experience at the museum is enjoyable. We are a readily accessible source for information, as well as an available resource to answer, direct, and equip visitors with information and knowledge about the museum through direct and personal interaction.

Applicants must be dedicated, motivated, courteous, and friendly to all and at least 16 years or older. Volunteers will also receive training and are expected to engage visitors with the service standards adopted by the museum and the program. Selected applicants must attend a mandatory 2-day training session focusing on customer service, cultural awareness, identifying and addressing specific needs, communication and presentation issues and aspects from a museum visitor perspective. Upon completion of training, volunteers will become certified Visitor Services Specialists. Specialists interact with visitors on all levels of service and programming. Opportunities are available during the weekday and weekend.
