Spanish Academy Teaching Assistants - August

 Escuela Bolivia is looking for volunteer teacher assistants for the Spanish Academy. The Spanish Academy is an interactive summer immersion camp that provides cultural and academic enrichment, as well as Spanish language skills to rising Kindergarten through rising 5th graders in a condensed two-week course. The position reports to the Spanish Academy Coordinator. 

Essential Responsibilities 
 Support the Spanish Academy Coordinator in taking care of the children 
 Accompany children to restroom, and watch over them during activities and recess breaks 
 Help children in classroom activities 
 Be respectful to students and staff 

Qualifications 
 Experience working with children 
 Spanish language skills, both written and spoken 
 Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse populations 
 Available to volunteer from Monday through Friday August 16-27, 2010, from 9am-5pm. 
 Interested individuals must go through a background check.

Directions:

Gates of Ballston Apartments are located approximately 2 blocks South of Ballston Commons Mall off of N. Glebe Rd. When you enter the complex, make the first left into the cul-de-sac, and you will see the Community Center. During August 16-20, the Spanish Academy will meet on the 2nd floor. To get to the room, please take the elevator from the lobby to the 2nd floor, head down the hallway towards the right and the room is the last door to the left. Signs will be posted. During August 23-27, the Spanish Academy will meet in the first room on the right on the 1st floor.    Nearest Metro/Subway Stop: Ballston Metro,    Walk distance (in minutes): 10 minutes
