The Arlington County Medical Reserve Corps has a community service opportunity for a temporary part time program assistant interested in public health and emergency preparedness. The program assistant would enroll in AmeriCorps and agree to provide 900 hours of assistance before September 30, 2006 and receive an educational award of approximately $2,360 at the end of the assignment. Work activities could include maintaining a database, setting up a list serve, helping to prepare a newsletter, helping with website maintenance, assembling training and mailing materials, and providing administrative support to the public health emergency planner. Volunteer should have basic computer knowledge and skills and familiarity with software applications.
