Seeking Volunteer Program Specialist

This is a highly responsible position with the Arlington County Volunteer Office in the Economic Independence Division of the Department of Human Services. The Volunteer Office plans, designs, and implements programs to increase the involvement of Arlington residents as volunteers in county government and community agencies to meet community needs, deliver creative solutions to community problems, and enrich lives. In addition to other duties, this position is specifically responsible for overseeing Arlington County’s nationally recognized Community Role Models initiative and serving as county liaison to the program.

The Volunteer Office also operates an on-line volunteer clearinghouse and promotes volunteerism by providing screening and assessment, matching, and referral services for residents and businesses seeking volunteer opportunities and linking them to non-profit organizations seeking volunteers to implement programs and services throughout Arlington County.
