Volunteer Office Seeking Emergency Volunteers

The Volunteer Emergency Support Team (VEST) is a new group of volunteers who will assist in County disaster recovery efforts under the direction of the Arlington County Volunteer Office and Office of Emergency Management.  The VEST Team helps ensure that "spontaneous" volunteers will provide valuable and appropriate services to Arlington after community disasters -- and that they do not impede the rescue efforts of first responders.

VESTs may answer calls in the Volunteer Office or the County Emergency Hotline from citizens wishing to volunteer.  They may be asked to help the Volunteer Office in managing Volunteer Reception Centers.  They may also help local nonprofits with administrative tasks so that they can continue providing services after a disaster.
