Seeking Bilingual Volunteer Program Specialist

This is a highly responsible position with Volunteer Arlington in the Community Assistance Bureau of the Department of Human Services. Volunteer Arlington plans, designs, and implements programs to increase the involvement of Arlington residents as volunteers in the county government and with non-profit agencies to meet community needs, deliver creative solutions to community problems, and enrich lives. 

 

Volunteer Arlington operates an on-line volunteer clearinghouse and promotes volunteerism by providing listing and referral services to non-profit and community agencies seeking volunteers. This position is specifically responsible for coordinating annual county government volunteer recognition and appreciation activities and supporting ongoing county-wide volunteer capacity building efforts.  

 

Specific responsibilities for this position include:

• assisting with Volunteer Arlington daily operations;
• supporting the management of the on-line volunteer clearinghouse;
• coordinating Arlington County's outstanding volunteer selection and annual volunteer appreciation celebration;
• conducting marketing, outreach and recruitment campaigns for diverse populations using a variety of media strategies;
• researching and developing innovative projects to expand volunteer opportunities and meet community needs;
• planning and conducting training(s) to support programs and services; and
• assisting with ongoing evaluation and analysis of programs and services.
