Volunteer Opportunity Details:
There are a variety of materials and services available on Central Library’s second floor. The help desk staff aid people in accessing them. The primary task is to help people use the public PCs, and the scanner station. In addition, staff troubleshoots the copiers, answer directional questions, sign people up for library cards, and provide access to current magazines, newspapers.
Volunteers need to have good customer service skills and speak English clearly enough to communicate with someone about computer problems. Fluency in a second language is a plus. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010, Internet, email programs and person eReaders. Prior experience providing technical support is preferred. Those 18 years and older must consent to a background check. Training will be provided.
