Help Children With Disabilities Learn To Swim

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Adapted aquatics classes help tots, children, teens and adults with disabilities to have fun and develop swimming skills. Volunteers will be in the pool assisting the participants and providing support and encouragement. Trained staff lead the classes and provide training and guidance for the volunteers. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus, but is not required. You should be comfortable in the water and able to swim. Volunteers should be able to attend all class sessions. An important element of this class is building a relationship with "your" class participant. There are 4 sessions of this class per year, one for each season. The next sessions begin on Sunday, January 27, 2013.

There will be training with aquatics staff. Volunteers should be available for all weeks of the class session.
