Volunteer Opportunity Details:
Adapted Aquatics classes help tots, children, teens and adults with disabilities to develop swimming skills. Volunteers assist the participants by helping to keep them safe, and providing support and encouragement. Trained staff lead the classes and provide training and guidance for the volunteers. Volunteers MUST be able to swim.
Orientation is provided at the beginning of the session. Volunteers should be available for all weeks of the class session, an important element of this class is building a relationship with "your" class participant. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus, but not a must.
