Description:
We are a non-profit organization working mostly in Honduras, the second poorest country in the western hemisphere. We help the very poor begin small businesses with which to provide for their families. In the beginning many of the businesses were making art and crafts. Thus the name Art For Humanity. Now we help people begin all sorts of small businesses, from sewing to bicycle repairs. We are now beginning the first English speaking college in Honduras the mission of which is to train the next generation of business and political leaders. We are an all volunteer organization. Email: glenevans@artforhumanity.org
History:
We began in 2002 when our founder, Glen Evans, visited Honduras in an attempt to assist disconnected families to reconnect. More recently we have decided that for Honduras to move away from being the second poorest country in the western hemisphere it will require Honduran effort much more than foreign effort. To that end, we are forming a college to train the next generation of business and political leaders. This link has that info. http://www.artforhumanity.org/projects/leadership-university/ Email: glenevans@artforhumanity.org
