The Arlington Agency on Aging is part of the Arlington County Department of Human Services, Aging and Disability Services Division. It provides administrative support to the COMMISSION ON AGING, the mission of which is to ensure and enhance the quality of life for older persons in Arlington.

Description:
The Commission on Aging strives to ascertain that the needs of Arlington's older persons are included in all planning and County activities. The Commission on Aging advises the Arlington Agency on Aging in the following areas:

(1) Developing and implementing area plans for older persons; (2) Establishing and monitoring Agency objectives; (3) Analyzing and inventorying of needs of older persons; (4) Participation of older persons in policy and program planning, to include convening public hearings, coordinating resources; Budgeting and allocating funds and general administration; and
(5) Identifying and pursuing appropriate funding sources.
