2-1-1 Helpline provides a comprehensive information service that is designed to assist all segments of the general population.
2-1-1 Helpline manages a database of community resources consisting of health and human service providers, non-profits, educational programs, support & civic groups, and local, city and county services for a five-county area. We then refer people to the services that will help them, either by phone or searching online ("Find Help").
The "Give Help" site is now available to help people find volunteer opportunities that match their interests, skills and available time.
Through specialized software, information is updated on a regular basis and indexed according to a standardized classification system. The comprehensive database is essential in order to provide telephone service, this searchable web site, and printed resource directories.
Our organization is a member of the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems (AIRS) and of the state affiliate New York State AIRS. We provide a service that strives to operate within the recommended policy and procedural guidelines set by AIRS. We also support initiatives through 2-1-1 New York that promote information & referral statewide.
Affiliated information & referral resources include:
- Specialized information & referral for Steuben County Transportation resources
- Provider Online; community resources newsletter
- Child Health Plus/Family Health Plus referral
- Analysis of calls, unmet needs, service gaps, and professional contact center services
- Interagency planning support
